I just returned from Vancouver, Canada where we visited my husband's family and ate through the city. After 8 days of cold weather (and gaining a few pounds), I dearly miss sunny Southern California. Today, my husband and I enjoyed opening up all our windows and enjoyed the warm Los Angeles weather while we unpacked, did laundry, ran errands and prepared our twins' first day at a new preschool tomorrow. I'm totally stressed as I now have to pack their lunches...yikes!

My Weekend - Celebrating The Holidays

We're just a few days into December and the celebrations have begun. On Saturday, we attended our annual holiday celebration between our friends and their kids. We (the adults) used to celebrate with Secret Santa gifts but everyone has kids now so the kids have their own Secret Santa exchange. It was a lot of fun to see all the little ones enjoying themselves and opening up their presents. On Sunday, we picked up our Christmas tree and enjoyed a holiday display of lights and decorations at a nearby neighborhood. My 2 year old twins loved it of course.

Now I'm stressing about the gift list and debating if I have enough time to send out holiday cards this year. Any in the same boat? I hope everyone had a great weekend!

On Saturday night we met up with my husband's college roommate. It was my first time meeting Jeff and I'm so glad I finally did - I loved hearing all the crazy college stories. It's amazing how so many years can go by but friends can just pick up where they left off. Even though a lot of my friends are still on the east coast, I love that I'm able to talk to them like nothings changed. Just seeing my husband with my his bud makes me want to get the girls together. I miss my girlfriends!

With the recent cool weather in Los Angeles, I've been itching to get some more new fall/winter items. In addition to spending time with family this weekend, I enjoyed some retail therapy at the mall and found myself spending a little too much time at Zara. I wasn't able to find all the images of everything I purchased but below are a few of those items.

My favorite piece is the black Pique Blouse. It was love at first sight when I laid my eyes on the structured cut and strong shoulders. I prefer a more tailored look on my 5'1" frame, anything to loose or baggy just makes me look frumpy. I'm now eyeing a few of its blazers and more tops. Someone stop me now before I go crazy!
