We have all seen the beautiful Fashion Week photos but have you ever wondered what really happens behind the scenes? And what do guests, especially the editors who work for the top magazines, wear to these fashion shows? Well, my friend just got back from Fashion Week and I have the inside scoop.
Editors love:
- Goyard handbags (Such an East Coast bag. And the #1 seller at Barney’s New York in Boston.), Balenciaga is still a favorite, and the YSL Muse bag is in.
- Killer shoes by Chrisitan Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blanik, and Brian Atwood.
- Ballet flats by Hollywould. Instead of walking the streets of NYC in a pair of Manolo’s like Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City, editors slip on their ballet slippers when trekking around NYC.
- Jeans paired with a cute top and tall boots!
- The color grey, whether its jeans or boots, that’s the “It” color!
- Chanel’s #219 limited-edition Black Satin nail polish. It’s sold out everywhere but of course all the editors already own it! It’s like the 1994 crazed frenzy over Chanel’s #18 Vamp.

Speaking of nail color, during the Alice and Olivia fashion show, Debbie Lippman provided amazing manicures using her own line of nail polish. My girlfriend is thrilled about the Debbie Lippman nail polish. She’s had her manicure for almost a week and not a single smudge or chip yet on her nails! How’s that for staying power. So stay tuned for more information on the fall colors that Debbie has. And don’t forget to check out the colors that Debbie created with Sarah Jessica Parker, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Ripa, Renee Zellwegar, and Pat Benatar.

Well, for the rest of us who want to be more realistic, LYCRA had a booth at Fashion Week in the main Pavilion, and they were giving away samples of the Rimmel - #399 Black Satin polish, which happens to be a great alternative to the Chanel Black Satin.
